Why was pro football and pro basketball so successful in the period between 1950 and 1975?

because it was more accessible due to the building of large stadiums/arenas, and the invasion of the television into homes. and at that time sports was about talent and drive and heart and hard work. today, its about good publicity and arrogance and money.

Hey Would you rather be a pro basketball, baseball or football player?

Pro Baseball player! This is easy, you play during the summer, when it is warm. Baseball is also not a "contact" sport, so risk of injury is not very high. On defense you only have to do something when the ball comes to you. On offense, 3 swings and your out.

The dream athlete career is that of the relief pitcher, or closer. Get paid MEGA MILLIONS to pitch about 70 innings a year. Most games, your just sitting and watching and only playing WHEN THEY NEED YOU.

Well I never thought of it, I am much to small for football, to short, for basketball and to slow for baseball and too old for all three.

Now I where young enough and the right size football offence.

Stephon Marbury
it isn't a tennis shoe
Stephon Marbury and his cheap sneaker line selling for $14.98
Stephon Marbury. Starbury products.
First of all it is a basketball shoe. It is Stephon Marbury. They are called Starburys. They are already released. You can get them at Steve and Barry's Sportswear.
Shaq
That's our Stephon Marbury. He made shoes that don't cost a lot because he knows a lot of kids can't afford the 100 dollar Nikes, and he wants to show the world that it's not about how expensive your shoes are. And the only money he's making from his Starbury line is based on how much gets sold. Stephon Marbury is such a great guy. Go Knicks!!!.

What is the definition/description of "Team Rebound" in pro basketball?

A team rebound occurs when a missed shot goes out of bounds before anybody secures the rebound and your team is awarded possession. A deadball rebound occurs on a first foul shot when the ball is "dead" and the team taking the foul shots is automatically going to get another shot.

Nevr heard of a "team rebound" in basketball....

What is the definition/description of "Team Rebound" in pro basketball?knicks ,nba teams

A rebound in basketball is the act of successfully gaining possession of the basketball after a missed field goal or free throw. Rebounds in basketball are a major part in the game, as most possessions change after a missed shot. Rebounds are divided into two categories: offensive rebounds, in which the ball is recovered by the offensive side and does not change possession, and defensive rebounds, in which the defending team gain possession of the loose ball. Most rebounds are defensive because the team on defense tends to be in better position (in other words, closer to the basket) to recover missed shots. Offensive rebounds lead to another opportunity to score for the offensive team, either right away or reseting the offense.

Rebounds are credited to the first player that gains clear possession of the ball, or to a player that successful deflects the ball into the net for a score. Height, jumping ability, timing and positioning are all required for good rebounding abilities. Because height is very important, many rebounds are made by centers and power forwards. Statistics on a player's "rebounds per game" (RPG), both offensive and defensive, are often kept and are a measure of a player's effectiveness.

Dennis Rodman was considered one of the best rebounders in the NBA. He managed to lead the league in rebounding for seven straight seasons despite generally not being one of the tallest or largest players on the court. One of the skills of his rebounding was "tipping", meaning that when the ball was close enough to him to touch, but too far for him to immediately take firm grasp of it, he would use his fingers to attempt tip the ball in a very controlled fashion--either to himself, into basket for a goal, or to a particular spot on the court where one of his teammates would have the best chance to recover it.

Wilt Chamberlain led the NBA all-time in rebounds statistically, and thus is considered by some to be the best rebounder of all-time. Others debate this, as Chamberlain played in an era in which players took more shot attempts than basketball players today. Other great rebounders in the NBA are Bill Russell, Hakeem Olajuwon, Charles Barkley, Kevin Garnett, Ben Wallace.

Because fighting for a rebound can be very physical, rebounding is often regarded as part of "dirty work" or "hustle" plays.

In sports photography, what shutter speed is good for indoor pro basketball, using 800 iso?

There's no set in stone answer to this. Basically, set it as fast as you can possibly can without underexposing the picture. Set your aperture to be wide open, and increase your shutter speed until your light meter shows perfect exposure or slightly underexposed. You can usually correct for slight underexposure in post-processing, especially if you shoot in RAW, and it will allow you to make the shutter speed slightly faster. If the arena is brightly lit, it shouldn't be a big problem; if it's dim, you'll have problems. This is why pro sports photographers pay big bucks for fast telephoto lenses. You can rent one from a local camera shop if this is a one-time gig.

In sports photography, what shutter speed is good for indoor pro basketball, using 800 iso?sports tickets

I would strive for at least 1/200 (even though you should really be going faster) witha f/2.8 lens. I usually get only 1/80 in a normal high school gym with 1600 ISO with f/2.8

In sports photography, what shutter speed is good for indoor pro basketball, using 800 iso?concert tickets ,nba teams

do what even says, then visit his web site and tell him what his work is like

i think its top - topish
First: the shutter speed that will be good for indoor basketball will be the same regardless of ISO. The question is what ISO you will have to use at a given aperture to get the shutter speed you need. I would suggest that you'll need to be pushing 1600 to get the shutter speed that it will take to stop fast moving pro athletes, unless you've got some very fast glass (IE 200mm f/1.8)

You'll probably need to shoot at minimum 1/200th to stop motion. I'd go higher if you have fast enough glass to support it, and the light will allow.

EDIT: Also realize that pros are often using multiple strobes tripped wireless-ly to shoot pro hoops.
When I shoot NBA %26amp; WNBA games, I set my camera to ISO 1600 and shoot with my lenses wide open. If I had a f/2.8 lens in my arsenal, then I could drop down to ISO 800.

The basic rule of thumb is to shoot no slower than the focal length of your lens. That means, with my 75-300mm, I have to stay at 1/250 or above. When I switch camera bodies and use an 18-70mm, then I still stay at 1/250.

Anything slower usually results in a well exposed blur.

You CAN switch to a slower speed, dependent on how steady you are, for timeouts and freethrows. I've gotten some great closeups during freethrows, slowing down the shutterspeed so I could stop down and increase depth of field.

I tried using ISO 800 before, but there too many opportunities lost in a fast moving game.

Does anyone have knowledge about American Pro Basketball???

I have 3 questions:

Question #1

Is the WNBA still active and around, or

has it failed? If it hasn't failed, and is

still functioning as a commercial entity,

why doesn't it have the same

exposure as far as games shown,

and ESPN highlights, as NBA

basketball? Because it's

very unpopular??

Question #2

Why is the NBA so screwed

up??

Why do they call their

Season ending championship,

a World title, when at best

it's a Professional National

title, and at worse, a league

championship? And no, just

because they have players from

around the world, doesn't mean

their League championship is a

World title.

Question #2-B

Why can't the NBA make

its team brand names make

sense?

Are there any Timberwolves

in Minnesota?

Is there any Jazz in Utah?

What do Nuggets have to

do with Denver?

Does anyone have knowledge about American Pro Basketball???nba 07

answer to question #1 is yes they are still in business and still very much competitive but not on the business and commercial end. attendances has been dropping the past few years for wnba games and it has hurt the league more than anything else.

but no they have no plans of wrapping it up and shutting it down, in fact? i heard they are looking to expand the league with 2 more teams?!.

answer to question #2 is the title of "world champions" has been used for the nba first because basketball originated in america more than 100 years ago! and the title has stuck with the nba because we were the first official league ever established. nowadays of course there is a real world championship of basketball and the title is for whoever wins the tournament is called "world champions of basketball" world champions of the nba....here in america the main reason why its still called world champions is because we have teams in canada and canada is not part of the USA so that is the real reason why we say "nba world champs" and not "world champions of basketball" which is a different tournament.

answer to question 2-b is yes they do have wolves in minnesota, and utah has a very diverse jazz history if you researched you'd find that out and they call them denver the nuggets because of its history of gold mining and pan handling in colorado.

Does anyone have knowledge about American Pro Basketball???sports tickets ,nba teams

There's no jazz in utah.
You're one weird weird person!
1. Yes the WNBA is still functioning and operating. The WNBA doesn't get as much exposure as the NBA, because it's not as popular as the NBA.

2A. They call it the World Championship because they're the best Pro League N the World, they have the best players

2B. Alot of teams got their names because they were in different locations and moved to another city. Are because the mascot represent the city are the region.

They are called the Minnesota Timberwolves got their name because their is small amount of Timberwolves, which are native to Minnesota

There isn't any Jazz in Utah. The Jazz got their name because they started out in New Orleans where Jazz is prominent. They then moved to Utah and just kept the name for the Franchise.

The Denver Nuggets got their names because of thr history of the city. Denver was founded as a mining town for Gold. Gold so the name Denver Nuggets

What is the name of the song used for many player introductions in pro sporting events?

The title of the song used by many pro basketball teams when introducing players is escaping me. Anyone have any titles that I might look into. I have the theme in my head, but I can't figure the title. It's not Sirius or Thunderstruck...but in that family.

Thanks!

Probably Gary Glitter's Rock %26amp; Roll Part Two (lots of guitar and synths, then people scream YEAH, then it pretty much loops)

We will rock you, by Queen. If there is alternating stomping and clapping this is probably your song.

I know in hockey some teams use U2 - Streets have no name.
Before the Philadelphia Eagles moved to Lincoln Financial Field, I think they were introduced with "Du Hast" by Rammstein. Now they are intro'ed by "Thunderstruck" by AC/DC.

Why don't pro and collegiate basketball players block out?

It's probably the easiest and best way to get a rebound. If the ref's doing his job, an opposing players who jumps over your back for the rebound will get called for a foul. All I ever see when I watch pro orcollegegames are people jumping around like a bunch of apes as soon as a shot goes up. From elementary all the way to my senior year of high school I was taught to block out. What happened to this basic fundamental?

Why don't pro and collegiate basketball players block out?fan gear

They don't? Since when?

If you've ever seen pro-level baskeball from up close like I have, you'd realize that they are so tall and quick that they can get to rebounds way above the rim. Many of them still box out but it just happens so quick that it's hard to see.

Next time you're watching a game, don't watch the ball. Watch the guys underneath and you'll see many of them box out when shots go up.

Why don't pro and collegiate basketball players block out?nba draft ,nba teams

Easy man this is basic theres no need to because they will just out jump them anyway I no it is bad fundamentals but theres no need and the players are going to contest them because they no there going to lose so they might as well save there energy.
Simple Fact:

Dennis Rodman isnt in the league anymore...
What happened to most basic fundamentals?

I don't think that will be a problem - your difficulty will be with the university with which you're studying. Will they allow you to travel overseas? Will you have difficulties contacting your adviser when you need their input? How many hours during the season will you have to work on your program? Consider all the variables - pro and con - before you decide.
